News - Electronic Arts : Schaltet Server älterer Spiele ab

Branchenriese Electronic Arts will einmal mehr bis März 2011 zahlreiche Server ältere Spiele abschalten. Welche Spiele vom künftig fehlenden Online-Support betroffen sind, hängt dabei von den aktuellen Nutzerzahlen ab.

"Zur Hintergrundinformation: Die EA-Sports-Titel, die im Februar und März 2011 eingestellt werden, stellen rund ein Prozent aller Spieler in Spitzenzeiten über alle EA-Titel hinweg dar", heißt es in einer Stellungnahme. "Im Gegensatz zur Wahrnehmung einiger Leute erfordert es hinter den Kulissen eine Menge Arbeit, diese älteren Spiele zu betreiben. Wir möchten unser hart arbeitendes Team an Ingenieuren und IT-Mitarbeitern lieber darauf konzentrieren, den anderen 99 Prozent unserer Kunden, die unsere beliebteren Spiele spielen, ein positives Erlebnis zu verschaffen."

Zu folgenden Terminen werden die genannten Spiele folglich nicht mehr online spielbar sein:
